Marsh2 is a free, editorially maintained web gazetteer — a reference index of websites organised by subject district. The name reflects our approach: a marsh is a transitional landscape, and the gazetteer records the terrain at the boundary between categories, where the web is most varied and least charted.
The directory currently holds 833 surveyed localities across 22 districts, from the broad general register of Unclassified & General Entries to the specialist precincts of Official Papers & Identity and Land Holdings & Property. Each entry is assigned to the district that best matches its principal function, following the same principles of classification used in traditional geographic reference publishing.
Submission is free and open. When a new site is proposed, our review process checks that it meets basic requirements before it is added to the district rolls. We aim to keep the index current, though as with any gazetteer, coverage reflects the localities known to us at the time of survey.
Marsh2 is not affiliated with any of the sites listed in its pages. Inclusion in the index is not an endorsement. The gazetteer is provided as a neutral reference, and readers are encouraged to conduct their own enquiry before engaging any listed operator.
We welcome corrections, updates, and new submissions. If you operate a website that belongs in the Marsh2 index, file your entry using the submission form and we will consider it for inclusion in the appropriate district.
